KnitPro – What we stand for

Knitting and crocheting makes you appreciate the little things, and therefore a lot of our customers ask themselves where the products come from that they use on a daily basis.

Today we want to tell you more about ourselves, about our brand values and where we are located. There are so many things we would love to tell you about KnitPro, so let’s dive right in.

Where are KnitPro Needles made?

First of all, we would love to say how grateful we are for the knitting and crocheting community. There’s something special about crafting people, who appreciate the little things and therefore try to make conscious decisions when purchasing supplies for their hobbies.

KnitPro is a family-owned enterprise based in Jaipur, India. Our factory is located on a 6 acre “campus”, where we produce our products and work on new ideas and materials to meet the needs of our talented customers.

It truly matters to us that you, our customers, like and enjoy working with our products and that’s why we love hearing feedback. If you have a great idea for a new product or an improvement, we are happy to receive a message from you. You can do that either via our social media platforms or via email.

Women’s Empowerment

KnitPro’s founder has a strong commitment to the equal treatment of women and we are so happy to count over 400 strong women amongst our workforce.

Many of our super women have never worked in a job before joining KnitPro. Our factory in Jaipur is surrounded by villages, where women have traditionally not been able to earn a livelihood. We love seeing how they have become more confident whilst being with us. With the on-job training and the amazing team support, they flourish and become empowered.

Their work enables them to support their families and finance the education of their children. If you would like to read some truly amazing stories, have a look at our website where we share the stories of three wonderful women that are part of our team.

KnitPro's Commitment to Education

We don’t stop at fair wages.

We also support our community with our very own school. The APNA school (APNA = our) is located in a rural area near Greater Noida. Before we started to offer free education, many of the children spent their time helping their families at home or working as laborers in agriculture.

Since the year 2000, these boys and girls are now educated and many of the children who passed through the school have continued their education by going to college afterwards. And some have even joined us at KnitPro, which we are most grateful for!

Sustainability

Whilst the empowerment of women, the fair and equal wages and the commitment to education are most important to us, we also consider ensuring a healthy working environment.

Our campus has been qualified to be eco-compliant and has been recognized for its sustainable profile. The dust-free environment makes it a safe workspace for our team members. 100% of the water used in the production process is purified, and is either reused or used to maintain the beauty of our surrounding grounds.

With renewable energy, sourced through strategically placed solar panels, we are not entirely reliable on fossil fuels.

So, if you have ever asked yourself, where KnitPro is from and who produces your well-loved knitting and crocheting supplies, we hope that you found the answer. If you want to learn more, please visit our website where we show you more about our production processes.
