All knitters know the beauty of a hand knit sweater. A hand knit sweater has the power to warm the heart and soul. Sometimes, however, we need a little break from the structure of a sweater. In contrast, exploring tiny whimsical knits is an opportunity to express our creativity slightly differently. Plus, we can use all those small balls of yarns from our larger projects.

Here is a felted purse with knitted felted roses, and green swirl vines, knitted with 100% wool with large needles. After felting the purse by washing it in hot water, we see our knitting transform into a whole new style. Seeing our knitting transform can be a symbol of our own transformation.
Using crochet flowers as tassels adds a bit of whimsy, such as crocheting a tiny flower on a baby hat. If you keep a knitting journal, try crocheting a flower bookmark. Through these details, we can use our knitting as an exercise in self-expression and in seeing the beauty of each garment as a truly one-of-a-kind creation. Knitting allows a deep sense of peace and calm, and through this peace and calm, our creativity is allowed to shine.
