That power of the word for the knitters is one of the reasons that the Mindful Collection was developed. In our previous blog we had discussed power of inspirational words in our Mindful Collection. Over the last few weeks, we have explored the power of various words.
The special line of knitting needles is imprinted with specific words – one per set of needles. Each word was thoughtfully chosen to help the knitter focus on the meditative aspects of the craft. In this blog we turn our focus on the words: Exhale, Believe, Peace, Share and Grace. The word Grace is a beautiful word, a feeling that changes everyone in their own way. The dictionary has multiple meanings for grace. (1) a quality of moving in a smooth, relaxed, and attractive way the quality of being pleasantly polite, or a willingness to be fair and honest (2) ways of behaving that are considered polite and pleasant and (3) approval or kindness, especially (in the Christian religion) that is freely given by God to all humans.
As a knitter you can look at this word through any of the meanings. For many knitters the word will remind to be relaxed. For other is may be focus to be polite and pleasant to the craft that has given so much to them. It can also mean sharing that divine blessing to bring joy to the less fortunate.
The US 10.75 knitting needles has this word imprinted on the needle tip. This to works for quick and chunky knits. It could be a warm hat for a cancer patient, a chunky scarf for the homeless or a blanket.
The power of words is undeniable. The special words, continuously repeated, can come in handy. It becomes your mantra to help focus the mind or just comfort yourself in a rough moment.
