Organization Matters!

Organization Matters!

As any knitter can tell you, organizing tools and yarns can quickly become a challenge. After all, we like beautiful yarn and we need the right tools! That’s why many of us become collectors of both. Notice how I use the word “collector”? Not to suggest that knitting materials can lead to hoarding. Let’s just say, a passion for knitting can become a quick way of collecting lots of beautiful and useful things. That’s why knitting needle organizers and knitting needle bags and storage are of critical importance to all us knitter types.

For instance, I like to knit with interchangeable needles - even when doing back and forth projects. So when KnitPro created practical and useful interchangeable knitting needle sets that came in their own needle organizers it helped me get control of my many tools.

I tend to knit with Karbonz needles when I’m looking for a way to zip through projects with a deadline. The 7 sets of IC needles - all stored in a see-through needle case with a range of cable lengths - insure me instant access to any configuration of needles. Its knitting needle storage case is also a sure-fire way of making sure everything is kept together and easily stored.

My best friend loves to knit with single point needles. (She claims it reminds her of learning to knit from her grandmother.) So when her birthday rolled around, I knew exactly what to give her. The Royale Single Point needle set is packaged in a zip case which keeps 8 pairs securely grouped and stored when not in use.

When I travel, I like to tote along small projects so I often find the need for double point needles. Since there are 5 for each size, you can only imagine how easy it is to lose track of one. Nothing (and I mean nothing), beats the storage cases for the Knit Pro variety of DPNs. The see-through case allow you to immediately see sizes and quantity. They also make storage an absolute dream.

Talking travel and storage, I have grown to depend on the well designed KP shoulder bags When I take a project on the road. The flat bottom of the bag allows me to set it down on a surface and the wide zippered top gives me fast access to all my accessories and a lot of yarn. It is also another neat way to store individual projects at home. It looks quite handsome when hung on the hook in my hallway. I just grab it when on my way to my knitting group, knowing that everything is ready and in place.
