All around the world, companies have been getting used to managing shut downs and then operating in the “new normal” of social distancing as we all work to suppress the spread of the Coronavirus.
The KnitPro factory in Jaipur was, of course, shut for four weeks in accordance with the Indian lockdown. During that period, we ensured that staff were still paid and we kept in contact to ensure they remained safe and well. We also arranged grocery deliveries to workers staying near our factory because they were finding it hard to source these due to the strict lock-down conditions.
The great news is that our Jaipur needle factory has received government approval to restart operations, while ensuring all rules on safe working are rigorously followed.
The new rules include keeping to physical distancing norms, keeping the factories sanitised, and no group of people gathering together.
To ensure we keep everyone as safe as possible, we have arranged a free pick-up and drop facility for all our team members, using buses that are sanitised regularly just like the factory. Staff will have their temperature checked before entering the factory and our engineering team have even come up with their own design for touchfree wash basins.
